April 2011

Spring Break
We took the kids down to St. George for Spring Break along with Dan's brother, wife, and kids. We spent the whole first day in Snow Canyon hiking and exploring. We love it there. It was fun to see Davin and Katelyn take Dax by the hand and help him over the tough spots, of course Dax just wanted to do it all by himself, but it was fun to see them working together and enjoying the fresh air.

The kids favorite thing to do after a hard days work of hiking or swimming.

Easter 2011
For Easter we had a big hunt with my side of the family in our backyard. My mother, Anne, always goes all out for every holiday and so every kid got lots of candy in the big hunt. The kids had a blast running around filling their buckets with tons of stuff. Even Tyse's bucket was filled up. He just sat there but magically his bucket was filled to the top-I need to learn how he does it.

We invited all the cousins from Dan's side to sleep over Saturday night. They were all crazy on sugar and had a lot of fun

March Happenings

Katelyn...
Katelyn is doing so well in Kindergarten. She really is starting to pick up on her reading. She is a social butterfly and is always begging me to call a friend so she can play. She likes taking care of Tyse and is always playing house with him. It was CRAZY Hair Day at school a few weeks ago. We had fun making Davin and Kate's hair as crazy as we could. They are such good buddies and have a lot of fun together.

Tyson...
Tyse is not our little baby anymore. He is getting really big. He is now eating pretty much all table food and so does not want his baby food anymore...I don't blame him. He army crawls everywhere and is getting really fast. Some funny things he does... tries to stand up by pushing his hands against the floor and sticking his cute little bum in the air, makes all different kinds of sounds with his mouth-the latest is blowing raspberries (never have to take a shower when you're holding him) and clicking his tongue, he jabbers a lot-he says da da and ba ba-who knows what it means. He always has a smile and is so content just hanging out playing with toys.

Davin...
All Davin wants for Easter is his two front teeth...it is funny trying to watch him attempt to eat anything hard because there is just nothing there. Davin has been taking piano lessons for about 7 months and is already moving on to level 1. He loves playing and is doing really good. Davin and I went on a field trip to the Treehouse Museum. They did a lot of cute things for the kids-made a magic wand craft, put on a play, and told lots of fairy tale stories. Davin had to teach his class something and show them how to do it...he made playdough. All the kids loved it and Davin gave each of the kids some that he had made to take home.

Daxton...
I don't know if I have enough room to write about all of Daxton's adventures just from this month. Here are just a few of his crazy ones. It was after bedtime and me and Dan thought all the kids were in bed when Dax comes walking in covered in red nail polish. He actually did a pretty good job too. Dan and I had to cover our smiles and pretend we were mad...it was hilarious. Daxton now takes a gymnastics class. It is great because he can run around really crazy and get all his energy out. He insisted on being superman in his class this week and I just had to capture him in character-he told me his glasses "make him frown." Oh there is more...he has escaped twice in the last two weeks with hardly a trace. We have these special locks on our doors because he likes to wander a bit, but he has found a way to open them. The first escape was to a neighbors house a block away (the way I found him was because he had pushed a stroller all the way there and had left it in their front yard). The second time, I had left to run errands and Dan let him go outside to play and not even two seconds later a man was carrying him up our driveway because Dax decided to go looking for me and was almost to a really busy road nearby. Always looking for an adventure, what a crazy boy!

Valentine's 2011

February 2011
Davin and I had a lot of fun making a dragon for all his friends at school to put Valentine's in. He is happy to report...all hands are still in tact.

Fun Valentine's Party at school.
I got to go and play a game with Davin and his class.

Can't forget the yummy treats.

RSV

February 2011
When I took Tyse into the Doctor's office for what I thought would be some antibiotics, I did not expect that I wouldn't be bringing him back home. He had a really bad cold for about 4 days and it was just getting worse with really high fevers, and other miserable things. His oxygen was in the low 80's and even with breathing treatments would not go up. So, the doctor sent us straight over to the hospital where they admitted him right away.

It was a strange feeling being back there like I had never left the place. Luckily, Tyse wasn't too bad, but the monitors ringing brought back lots of recent memories. He tested positive for RSV. They put him on oxygen and gave him breathing treatments every 3 hours.

Tyse's pediatrician luckily only made us stay overnight and because of my nursing background let us bring him home along with a bunch of equipment to help take care of him. The next 5 days he was on oxygen, breathing treatments, and we had to suction him out a bunch...What a trooper!

Dad gave him a bath at the hospital and you would have never guessed he was sick by how much water splashed onto the floor.

All fresh!

Finally home

I liked playing with the oxygen tank

So grateful he is home and better now...We love you baby Tyse!!!

We love Mexico!!!

January 2011
We have started a tradition with our family and some of our extended family of going on a trip every year somewhere warm while it is cold at home. This year we went to Puerto Vallarta. It was so much fun and we made some really great memories together. Dan and I took all 4 kids which should be crazy, but they were so good and loved being with their other cousins. that it was just fun. We did tons of different things. Here are some...
we played at this great surfing beach
One day some of us older kids went on this amazing excursion called Vallarta Adventures...and believe me it was a great adventure...zip lines, repelling, hiking, and much more...

Dan riding down our first zip line

Me repelling down a huge waterfall

Dan and I raced down the last zip line. Dan only thinks he beat me...as you can tell-picture proof...I clearly beat him..haha!
One of the days we went to Las Caletas and they had a kids club where the kids got to do fun zip lines, climbing walls, and walking across cool bridges.
Davin was the most daring and went upside down across his first zip line. It was awesome-NO FEAR in that kid!

Kate loved it too!

There was no way that Dax was going to get left out. There was an age limit and Dax was under it, but he really wanted to go so the awesome lady took him down one and yes-he LOVED it!

Swimming at our awesome resort

Tyse even loved it, especially splashing!

Tyse's 1st time on the beach

We took the bus everywhere, very cheap and convenient

Shopping in Old Town-we found some great deals

Kate and her cousin Maggie got their hair braided and of course Kate wanted everything her older cousin had. They hung out the whole time together and you could almost mistake them as twins.

What a fun Dad

Taking the boat out to our adventures

Watching whales-we saw lots!

This baby humpback whale kept jumping out of the water. The kids loved seeing it

and of course...we relaxed a lot

Definitely a Really Fun Adventure!
